Japan
Alisa: The reason why I like japanese music is because since I started watching anime, I began
to listen to the music, seeing as I like music so much, I began obsessing into it further and further more, and I just from
then started to love it as much as someone may love music from up here.
Japanese music is just the same as in North America, but just songs in Japanese. Through-out some of the songs, or most,
you would hear english words/sentences because they learn english as a second language in grade 6. Their music genres are
called the same as ours, but with a "J" in the front just to tell you that it is Japanese. The popular genres there
are in Japan are JRock and JPop. Their highest payed JPop artist is Ayumi Hamasaki. She may be known as their Brittany
Spears because she writes a lot of music, started young, and is still up and at it in a big way.
Jamaican
Alisa: The reason why I like music from here is because I was raised around it with my parents
being both born from Jamaica. I was then raised with it and eventually began to like it while growing up.
Jamaican music is quickly spreading thorugh North America. You may be able to hear it especially in Toronto when Caribana
is taking place every summer. Some popular genres from this country are Reggae and Calypso. Calypso is very fast and upbeat
compared to Reggae, which is much slower, but it depends. The most popular artist you may have heard from this country was
Bob Marley, who had already passed.
